It's Beautiful Up Here At Ak-O-Mak
It’s been beautiful up here at Ak-O-Mak, and we’ve been taking advantage of every bit of sunshine we can get – spending the majority of the time in the water. On Saturday we remembered the life of Bob Foxcroft an Olympic fencer and long-time friend of Camp Ak-O-Mak and Chikopi, who sadly passed away in the fall of 2009.

First Day of Camp
The campers have arrived, greeted by the unforgotten ambiance of summers at Ak-O-Mak. For some this is the very first time they have smelled the scent of summer camp: dusty wooden cabins newly painted for their arrival, fresh cut grass, and the mist coming off Ahmic Lake at Early Bird, for others there is comfort in returning to their familiar home away from home.

The troops have assembled and gathered for the preparation of camp. Catherine, Dianne, Thom and myself arrived Thursday evening greeted by a beautiful blanket of stars, and began to unload the weekends supplies under the light of the moon.
