AK-O-MAK ALUMNI ADOPT A CAMPER
Dear AK-O-MAK Alumni, Did Camp play a role in making you who you are today? Over the years, many of you have written or visited and shared your personal stories of how AK-O-MAK shaped you for future success… how the War Canoe taught you to “dig deeper” for the stamina to get through tough times… and that your camp friends are “ for life”! Well, every year at AK-O-MAK we receive inquiries from families who ache to send their daughter to camp but are financially unable to do so. Some girls are gifted athletes. Some live in stressed homes. All are just great kids that deserve a break. You can be the person that makes the AK-O-MAK dream a reality in a girl’s life. You can “adopt” a camper by furnishing basic tuition (or a portion thereof) for a deserving child. One hundred percent of your donation will be directed towards that camper. Each scholarship- camper will write to her alumni- sponsor describing what Camp AK-O-MAK has meant to her this summer. “Be the Key” that unlocks the potential in a girl’s life. Washers & Dryers
We're always looking for good equipment to last a lifetime. If you have any connections to obtain inexpensive, but heavy-duty washers or dryers, please contact camp. With the wear-and-tear that the campers go through in their clothes each day, it's no doubt that the camp clothes washer gets its share of heavy-duty work.

Lasers?
Camp's sailboats are old - but hanging on thanks to Jan's hard work. We are at the crossroads in our sailing program - and finding ourselves needing to determine whethere we're going to continue with Sunfish sailboats, or move onto the Laser sailboat. Either way, we're in need of some sponsorship. If you'd like to help the sailing program, we'd love to talk more. Naming opportunities are available for the boats.
