Thurs July 19th:
We had a fantastic morning here at Ak-O-Mak. The sun was shining and the water was very calm, which was perfect conditions for swimming, running, road biking or paddling for earlybird. After inspection we had a full morning of classes! Some of the classes included water aerobics, hiking adventure, archery, ultimate Frisbee and swimming. We also had one last paddling practice before we head out to the Ottawa Regatta tomorrow! For lunch we enjoyed ravioli with salad, before having candy store and rest hour. For the afternoon activity we all met at Easter Island Head Rock for a team comp event. The teams were given cardboard and duct tape and were challenged to make a cardboard boat to race against the other teams! If the campers answered riddles then they were able to get additional supplies like paddles and lifejackets. It was so much fun to watch the races and see everyone cheering on their team! After team comp we had open waterfront before dinner. After a delicious dinner of chicken, cous cous, cauliflower and salad we headed out to the backfield to play Capture the Flag for evening activity. Afterwards we headed back to the cabins for an early bedtime, to get rested for our trip to Ottawa tomorrow!
