Announcements, Announcements, Announcements!
Camp Ak-O-Mak bid a fond farewell to Program Director, Emma Puckering at our banquet last week.
We are so thankful for Emma’s commitment, professionalism and genuine warmth as she delivered a stellar program to our campers. Emma will be commencing veterinary school this September, realizing a life-long dream! We would also like to “Ak-O-Mak Toast” Emma and fiancé, Matthew, on their recent engagement! We wish them many happy adventures in their life together.
If you have ever met the Puckering family, it will come as no surprise that we announce Hannah Puckering as our new, Camp Ak-O-Mak Program Director!
Hannah has literally grown up at camp. Five years as a camper followed by four years as a counsellor, Hannah thrived in spite of having 1 of 2 older sisters in the role of Program Director the whole time!
A proud “Gryphon”, Hannah is studying biological science (with a minor in neuroscience) at the University of Guelph. She is currently interested in geriatric neuroscience and social gerontology…at least during the school year. When camp is in session, Hannah can be found running the trails, Coxing the War Canoe, racing a triathlon or maybe enjoying a 1 or 2 mile open-water “dip” in the lake! Although an accomplished young lady already, Hannah’s warm, down-to-earth-style endears her to campers and staff alike.
Welcome aboard, Hannah!
