August 30

We woke up to a chilly morning today for early bird. The girls did a great job running, mountain biking, road biking and swimming to Cherokee Point through the waves. Once everyone had completed their early bird we got bundled up and headed up to a warm main house for breakfast. We enjoyed french toast and bacon while a fire blazed in the fireplace. As everyone was cleaning for inspection, the sun came out for the rest of the day. Our morning classes today were a variety of sports including archery, rugby, and volleyball. For the girls last swim practice of the summer Coach Jocelyn added a bit of twist. The girls partnered up to do a fun run and bike before everyone jumped in to finish off the practice with an open water swim. After rest hour the girls headed to the dock in their camper tees for camp pictures. Once we completed each cabin’s picture we all went to the tennis courts to cheer as our cabin winners competed in the tournament finals. We finished the afternoon off with sailing and a fun class of aussie rules football led by our enthusiastic Australian counsellors. For dinner we had chicken and curry rice with a fruit and green salad and delicious caramel slices for dessert. Tonight’s evening activity was a new game called Colours, where the campers got to run all over camp looking for 6 hidden counsellors, each with a specific colour. Everyone is now cozied up in their beds to rest up for tomorrow’s much anticipated all day Treasure Hunt.
