One of our favourite things to do at Camp Ak-O-Mak is to hit the trails on our mountain bikes. We find that a lot of our campers who come to us have not tried mountain biking before, but they leave camp with a passion for the freedom and the speed that the sport brings.
Here are the top reasons we think more girls should start mountain biking.

One of the best reasons to try mountain biking is the beautiful nature you get to experience while you’re out on the trails. You can escape the busy bustle of city life and experience tranquil trees disconnected from your phone, finally!
By focusing on navigating rocks and tree roots, you can focus on what’s ahead and truly be present in the moment. There’s something magical about hearing only the birds, summer cicadas, and your wheels on the trail.
