Hello Ak-O-Mak Families!
We’re thrilled to welcome our campers back for another unforgettable summer at Camp Ak-O-Mak, one of Ontario’s top overnight camps for girls. Whether it’s your child’s first time at overnight camp or a return to familiar shores, arrival day was filled with excitement, big smiles, and the start of new friendships. From car drop-offs to airport pickups, it was wonderful to see our Ak-O-Mak family come together once again.
Arrival Day Highlights
Yesterday was arrival day, and whether campers came by car or coordinated travel from the airport, it was a joy to welcome them with open arms. The smiles, laughter, and energy set the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable summer.
Our first camp dinner was buzzing with excitement, followed by waterfront orientation, backfield games, and cabin bonding time, helping new and returning campers settle in and build connections from day one.
A Full Day of Fun and Firsts
This morning, we dove right in with our first lake swim practice, a refreshing start to the day! Campers then enjoyed a visit to the ever-popular candy store, a camp tradition everyone looks forward to.
In the afternoon, the girls had a chance to choose their own adventure with choice periods featuring:
Artistic swimming
Hiking
Biking
Disc golf
Open waterfront with paddling and swimming
Whether it’s their first time at overnight camp or they’ve been coming for years, campers are already making memories, gaining independence, and trying exciting new things.
